“I have ‘no time’ to workout”…Wanta bet!!!
Based on a USA Today article (kinda reputable, don’t you think:-) “People who complain they have no time to exercise may soon need another excuse. Some experts say intense exercise sessions could help people squeeze an entire week’s workout into less than an hour. Those regimens — also called interval training — were originally developed for Olympic athletes and thought to be too strenuous for normal people. “High-intensity interval training is twice as effective as normal exercise,” said Jan Helgerud, an exercise expert at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. “This is like finding a new pill that works twice as well … we should immediately throw out the old way of exercising.”
Helgerud goes on to say, “I’m much more afraid of people not exercising at all,” he said. “Inactivity is what’s killing us.”

Two things come to mind…
1. Each year that goes by, I feel as though our society separates more and more. It is as though we have people who exercise and become more committed to it, and some who don’t do anything at all. For those who do exercise, they are finding out that high intensity exercise IS way more effective.
and 2. These people at the USA Today are either ONTO something, or they are ON something!

Ok….so I was going to originally keep quiet on this one but I can’t! For those that say they don’t have time to fit exercising into their busy schedules: STOP KIDDING YOURSELF! 🙂
I’m a prime example of fitting exercise into my weekly routines even with what most would consider an “overly busy schedule”. I work 2 jobs (technically 3 if you include the race track, 4 if you include my “1-WOman pit crew duty” on the weekend) which equates to roughly 70 hr work weeks (not including the race track work/website, or pit crew duties) most of weeks….not to mention I live approximately 1 hour away from “the box”. I fit my workouts over lunch, if I have to! Very rarely do I end up giving up sessions due to “not having time”. The time is there if you really want it to be!
