Athlete of the Week

Posted in Nutrition on October 5, 2009 by Crossfit Sioux Falls

Congratulations to Andy Carlson!
Andy’s previous career was that of a very successful high school football coach. He knows what it takes to succeed on the football field and he brings the heat everytime he steps in the gym.
Andy’s results speak for themselves. He puts in 3x a week;
-Started with double bands on Pullups, now complete entire workouts with no bands for Pullups
-Down about 20lbs
-Strength has improved
-Cardio has improved where he pushes each workout until the very end.

Thank you Andy for being part of our TEAM! We appreciate everything you bring to the table. Keep rockin it!

CrossFit vs. P90x

Best ab exercise out there.

Best ab exercise out there.

Now before I say anything, I am not against P90x. Annie and I have the set of DVDs and do them in addition to our CrossFit training. Funny thing is, I still watch the infomercials when I see them on TV. I think there is nothing wrong with P90x. I like it. But it is funny to me when I hear people say, “Isn’t CrossFit like P90x?” Or, “P90x is just as tough as CrossFit”. That is when I disagree. From the outside looking in, I can understand how the average gym goer may think they are similar, but after you read this you will have an educated opinion about the differences between the two.

Sometimes we don't even know what our goals are. Think about it. Like Kelsie is:-)

I love a new month!

Last month 8 of us started off the month right, by setting 3 big goals for the month. So Heather, Sharese, Jimmy, Kimberly G, Jeri, Liza, Amanda: How did you do? Did you hit your goals? What is the update?

Goals are the internal driving force that is going to drive us harder, push us to a higher level.

So lay it out there…Set 3 more new goals for the month of October. Lets hear it!
